Boys athlete of the week: Austin Benigni, The Woodlands Christian

Notable: The junior guard scored a game-high 22 points in second-ranked The Woodlands Christian’s 72-57 win over top-ranked San Antonio St. Mary’s Hall in a TAPPS 5A regional playoff clash last week. St. Mary’s Hall was previously undefeated at 19-0. It’s The Woodlands Christian’s first season competing in 5A. TWCA now plays Austin St. Michael’s at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Bryan HS in the state semifinals.
