After the postponement of the Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas Triathlon was announced on March 16, officials in The Woodlands had one consensus feeling: “disappointed.”. The race could still occur later in the year — organizers have said possibly in October — but with no make up date announced, the race and the $13 million in revenue generated by it are now uncertainties. The triathlon is the crown jewel of the township’s ‘Big 6’ annual events and generates the most sales and hotel occupancy tax of any of the other five events.
