NEW CANEY, Texas — A mother was killed Thursday and five other people were injured after a wheel flew off a truck and hit her windshield as she was driving. The Texas Department of Public Safety said the woman and her 17-year-old son were headed to his baseball game around 7:15 p.m. when a tire flew from a Dodge pickup truck in the northbound lanes of the highway, bounced over the concrete barrier and crashed into her truck, KTRK reported.
