My earworms over the weekend covered multiple genres and spanned numerous decades. “Sunshine on my shoulders” and thoughts of John Denver (1971) indeed made me happy. “You are my sunshine,” a song I never until Sunday night associated with the state of Louisiana or Jimmie Davis, who was that state’s governor for split terms of 1944-48 and 1960-64. I still prefer to hear it warbled by the late, great Johnny Cash.
