Conroe Black History Parade stresses unity in the community

Conroe’s Black History Parade “Unity in the Community” was held Saturday and made its way through downtown Conroe. It ended up at Washington High School Auditorium for a Black History Awards Ceremony. The parade grand marshal was Bubba Jacques who attended Washington as his alma mater. Awards were presented to Ann Alexander Stone as Woman of the Year, Pastor James Glaspie is the Man of the Year and Shawn Holmes, Transportation Manager for the city of Conroe who received the Trailblazer Award.
