At 10:40 pm Saturday Montgomery and Magnolia Fire Departments were dispatched to a reported mobile home fire on Ben Smith Road off FM 1486 just south of the Dobbin Community. With the station less than two miles away the first truck arrived with heavy fire. While enroute they were told a 56-year-old female was trapped in a back room. Firefighters made several attempts to enter but were driven out by flames. The female was found deceased in a back room. Kevin Bates with the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office said there were no smoke detectors. They are now investigating to find a cause of the blaze.
