Cedric Newberry Nutter was born in Conroe in the Methodist Church Parsonage on June 29, 1895 to Jacob Brillhart Nutter and Bertha L. Newberry. In 1976, Nutter wrote his stories about growing up in very early Conroe and compiled them into “A Silhouette of Conroe, Texas 1976.” Nutter spent most of his life in Montgomery County as a gin owner and businessman. He also had numerous brothers employed in various businesses in Conroe.
