IT’S A FAMILY AFFAIR

Sunday night a Splendora Officer was called to the Haunted Drive on FM 2090 in Splendora for a disturbance. The officer then witnessed a female in a truck in question hanging out the window with a beer screaming. Inside were three small unrestrained children and a male driver. As the vehicle pulled onto the road the officer approached the female to identify her. She began to fight with the officer. An assist was put out and multiple officers responded to the scene. A Patton Village officer was first to arrive to assist. He then encountered the second female in the truck who swung at him breaking his taser that was on his vest. Both women were detained. The male driver appeared to b intoxicated and DPS was notified. After a field sobriety test on the scene and a breathalyzer, he was determined to be twice over the legal limit. Officers now had a vehicle full of small children. A family member was notified in southwest Houston and responded to take custody of the children. The alternative was to notify CPS. Erika Velasquez, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on charges of public intoxication. Yanira Espinoza Velasquez who struck the Patton Village Officer was booked in for criminal mischief, $750 to $2500. Alejandro Garcia of Houston was booked in on a charge of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years-of-age.
