Houston Police Sgt. Sean Rios of Willis was gunned down Monday as he was on his way for his evening shift. On Tuesday night his family was honored at the Berton Yates Stadium in Willis as they attended his son Tristan’s Brabham Middle School football game. Several HPD officers were in attendance. A Houston Police helicopter did a flyover as the audience took a moment of silence. The highlight of the game was when Tristan Rios (#82) received the final touchdown pass of the game. Tuesday afternoon Robert Soliz, 24, who was accused of gunning Rios down was taken into custody on the Kay Freeway. He was then transported to the Harris County Jail using Rios handcuffs. One person of interest is still being sought. Soliz was out on a $100 bond from Harris County for unlawfully carrying a weapon in a motor vehicle. He was due to make a court appearance on October 7. In 2017 he was accused of threatening to kill his girlfriend. For the threat, he was given 90-days in the Harris County Jail. In 2016 he was arrested for carrying a handgun in a motor vehicle and was sentenced to 6-months in the Harris County Jail.
