Close to 5 am this morning a good samaritan stopped to help a stranded motorist on I-69 near East River in Splendora. The stranded motorist is identified as Anthony Wayne Mericle, (06/01/91). Mericle then stole the good samaritans vehicle a silver 2006 Nissan Altima passenger car with no rear license plate. He was last seen going into Liberty County.
