TURN ON THE LIGHTS AND THEY WILL COME!!!

Friday night was quite a busy night for Splendora Police. Late in the evening, four teens were stopped on Tram Road at FM 2090 in their white four-door passenger car. The driver had no driver’s license or insurance. Police called for a wrecker for the vehicle. With two patrol cars with their emergency equipment activated close to fifty vehicles passed them heading north toward FM 2090 possibly from a party. One vehicle almost hit the officer. When the driver whose window was open was told to stop he continued on but thought different of it as he spotted traffic stopped in front of him. The driver was found to be impaired with an open beer on the console and half an eighteen pack in the front seat that the driver who was the lone occupant denied was his. Thomas Lerow Lilley, 28, of 10918 Autumn Lane in Cleveland was arrested for driving while intoxicated second offense. He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a $1000 bond. As the officers were dealing with him another driver almost hit them again. That driver was told to stop. The driver stopped then put the car in reverse and backed into the ditch. After a field sobriety test, he was found to be intoxicated and transported to the Montgomery County Jail. His passenger who was also intoxicated and unable to drive was given a ride by an officer to Flying J on SH 242 and I-69. While at the Flying J a male walked out of the store and appeared very intoxicated. But seeing the officer walked back into the store. The officer returned to Splendora and after working another traffic stop for speeding was stopped by a motorist who stated there was a crash at the Montgomery/Liberty County line. The officer responded and found a vehicle in the ditch with damage to it and to property around it. The driver was passed out int the driver’s seat. After determining he was not injured but very intoxicated the officer recognized the male from the Flying J. With the crash in Liberty County, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office was notified and responded. When the driver ran off the road in the curve he destroyed a fence and an AT+T telephone box. That driver was arrested by Liberty County deputies.
