When most people hear the words “Lewis and Clark,” the first thing (or people) that comes to mind are the famous United States explorers. But those of us who traveled to Conroe’s Owen Theatre last weekend (including Waterford Estates residents Marie and David Underdown) will be thinking of another duo: Al Lewis and Willie Clark, or The Sunshine Boys. Audience members laughed at the antics of these two ex-vaudeville comedians as they argued over their possible involvement in a reunion where they would revise their hilarious skit: “The Doctor Will See You Now.” Kudos go to Joe Visor (Clark), David Herman (Lewis), Tanner Moore (Ben Silverman) and the rest of the cast and crew. What a wonderful job! As one who has a hearing impairment, I was especially thrilled to be able to understand every word spoken! Kudos also goes to the staff at The Owen for their social distancing rules and keeping us safe by making sure attendees wear masks and assigning seats for social distancing. Neil Simon’s The Sunshine Boys continues until Nov. 7. For tickets and information, call 936-539-4090 or check their website at https://ift.tt/37USBge.
