CITIZENS HELP KEEP DRUNK DRIVER OFF THE ROAD

Thursday afternoon close to 2pm Montgomery County dispatchers were alerted to an intoxicated driver southbound on I-69 from the Splendora area. Several motorists called 911 to report a van was unable to maintain lanes and was driving between 10 and 70 miles per hour. One driver stayed behind the intoxicated driver southbound to the SH-99 exit. As the driver slowed again and was all over the roadway several motorists took it into their own hands and started to box the driver in and keep speeds extremely slow. Multiple units from different agencies were able to get the driver stopped at the SH 99 intersection. The driver identified as Isaias Manzanarez Flores, of 21606 Mckenzie Circle in Porter was given a field sobriety test by Precinct 4 deputies. He had admitted to several beers and had two open in the vehicle. He was arrested for his second DWI. As of Friday afternoon, he remains in the Montgomery County Jail on a $1000 bond.
