As roughly 42,000 students returned to in-class instruction Tuesday, the Conroe Independent School District fielded the usual first-day-back issues without any major problems. For superintendent Curtis Null, dealing with COVID-19 and getting students back into the building has been about investing in the right things: PPE, the right cleaning materials, safety precautions, and time. For the past several weeks the district has been rolling out its ramp-up plan, allowing staff and students the time to practice the procedures they will have to follow in order to keep school open.
