DPS PURSUIT ENDS IN CRASH

At 9:30 am Saturday morning a DPS Trooper stopped a red KIA on I-45 near the Hardy Toll Road. The vehicle stopped and then fled. The Trooper initiated a pursuit at speeds up to 128 miles-per-hour, It was at Louetta Road when the female driver of the Kia identified as Jayla Boyd, 20, of Magnolia, crashed into two other vehicles, one vehicle, an SUV rolled over in the middle of the freeway closing southbound lanes. The victims of the other vehicles received minor injuries, The KIA driver was not injured. Boyd has been placed in the Montgomery County Jail on a charge of possession of marijuana and felony evading arrest. As with any pursuit, many ask why. Why not just let them go? The best answer to that is why are they running, is it a simple traffic ticket, are they involved in a robbery, or homicide was the car just stolen.
