Splendora and Tarkington players walked toward opposite sides of the net and waved to each other in what has replaced pre- and postgame handshakes between volleyball opponents. Teams aren’t switching sides between sets like usual, a University Interscholastic League protocol that limits the exchanging of sweat on chairs and benches.
